| Help for Teachers 1. Why should I use e-english? Using e-english is one of the most efficient and cost effective ways to find new students. You can tap into a online source of English students for free or at minimal cost if you choose to be a member. You save time by not having to design and host your own website. In addition we advertise our website through search engines which means that you don't have to. 2. How much does it cost? E-english has two types of service: 1) Standard Service (free) Our standard service is free for teachers. Those using this service will be able to register and put all their details onto the e-english database, thereby creating the potential for learners to contact them. If contacted, those using our basic service will be able to respond to the message sent to them. Those using this service will only be able to respond to messages sent to them, they will not be able to send new messages. It should be noted that all those that put their details on e-english will be monitored and if deemed as unsuitable for the site will be removed without warning. We therefore recommend that your details are comprehensive and appropriate for the site. 2) Membership Service (10 Euros) To use the membership service, teachers will need to pay a nominal fee of 10 Euros which will allow them to not only respond to messages but also send new messages to as many learners as they wish over a 1 year period. The reason this fee has been introduced is to: 1) reduce misuse of the site for purposes other than the organisation of English lessons 2) create a clear indication of those who are serious with regards to teaching and learning English and in particular giving reassurance to teachers that a learner has the ability to pay for lessons. Once contact has been made and an agreement has been established between the teacher and learner, with regards to the number, type and cost of lessons, the learning and teaching of English can begin. 3. How should my student pay me? In the case that you are giving lessons remotely (e.g. via Skype) you will have to organise payment remotely as well. There are several possibilities for remote payment: 1. Paypal is a convenient way of making payments online. A relatively small percentage is taken on each transaction. 2. Bank transfer: A slower but often cheaper method of making transfers. EURO payments can be made without charge and require knowledge of the IBAN and SWIFT numbers. 4. How do I know the learner is serious / still looking for a teacher? By reading through the learner's profile, you will be able to get a good idea of whether the learner in question is serious or not. If the learner is a member of e-english this will provide further evidence that the learner is serious and has the ability to pay for lessons. 5. A User has contacted me, what do I do? Congratulations, a learner is interested in having lessons with you. You may now make contact with the learner. You can do this absolutely free. 6. Should I ask a student to write a review? This is a good idea because future students will consider good reviews an important factor when considering whether or not to make contact. Only those users that you have contacted via our site will be able write a review. Not found what you are looking for? If you have additional questions or comments, please fee free to contact us. |
